Enhancing Focus, Fitness and Family
in the Autism Community
The Exercise Connection (EC) was founded in 2009, by David S. Geslak, with an educational DVD that is used to educate families on the vitality of exercise in the lives of individuals with autism spectrum disorders.
The ease of use and simplicity of the DVD and David’s unique and energetic teaching style drew the attention of autism organizations, schools and centers. David began presenting and hosting workshops to continue to educate parents, professionals and anyone involved in the lives of our children.
In 2010 the EC established a partnership with Community Support Services (Brookfield, IL), Fox Valley Special Recreation Association (Aurora, IL), and The ADVANCE Center (Cairo, Egypt) where the respective staff were trained on the EC philosophy and The Five Components of Physical Fitness for Children with ASD. In 2011 the EC was presented with the Community Partnership Award from CSS for the work with their individuals and students.
Also in 2011, David, was the winner of the "Day in the Life of an Entrepreneur" contest by Crains Chicago Business for his challenges and success with building a business to help the special needs community.
Since the first DVD, David and the EC have published two books and are working on another DVD to further educate parents and professionals. David has hosted over 60 workshops and lectures throughout the world including, Barbados, Dubai and Egypt.
David continues to train children individually and both youth and adults in small group settings. Each training session provides further education and more opportunity to enhance exercise programs and learn the needs of the children, adults and their families.
In the years to come the EC will continue to provide superior training, products and tools to help improve the lives of our children and families and help them achieve the Exercise Connection.
"EC will continue to provide superior training, products and tools."
